Ackland Art Museum Collections

The Ackland Art Museum had a unique request: take it’s entire collection online in a searchable format. The challenge was that their data was tracked in an Oracle-backed collections management system (TMS) that did not natively support a web interface.

A custom data export system was built in Ruby to move their Oracle data to a light, web-friendly MySQL database and a searchable interface was created to pull that information into their existing website.
